O-1A: EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY

$8,000 flat service fee · U.S. government filing fees separate

The O-1A is tied to you, not one season. The sport's top athletes use it to compete, coach, produce schools and clinics, appear and do media across engagements. Straight talk: the O-1A demands more than the P-1A — sustained acclaim proven across multiple evidence categories — and it fits the finals-level tier of the sport, not everyone hauling. When it fits, it's the most flexible tool in rodeo.

THE PROCESS, START TO FINISH

  1. Criteria mapping — O-1A is won on evidence categories — titles, press, standings, high earnings, critical role. We map your career against them before drafting.
  2. Honest gap report — if you're two criteria short, you get that in writing — plus the plan to build them, often starting from a P-1A.
  3. Petitioner + itinerary — our agency structure petitions and pleads a multi-engagement itinerary: competition plus schools, exhibitions, media and coaching.
  4. Expert letters — opinion letters from credible names in the sport — drafted and placed by us.
  5. Filing (Form I-129) — prepared and filed; premium processing available.
  6. Consular step — visa stamping with full interview prep.
  7. Build the long game — a strong O-1A file is the foundation for the EB-1A green card later, as the record matures.

AT A GLANCE

QuestionAnswer
Who is it for?Athletes with sustained, documented acclaim — finals qualifications, year-end titles, national records.
O-1A vs P-1A?P-1A = compete. O-1A = compete plus coach, teach schools, commentate, appear — the whole career.
How long?Up to 3 years initially, extendable.
Do winnings count as 'high remuneration'?They're argued, not assumed — prize money and sponsorships aren't salary, and we build that part of the file carefully.
Can I run roping or riding schools on an O-1A?Teaching and clinic engagements can be pleaded in the itinerary — that flexibility is the O-1A's biggest advantage.

QUESTIONS ATHLETES ASK

Am I 'extraordinary' enough?

Honestly, most competitors aren't yet — and we say so. Titles plus standings, press and a record over multiple seasons can get there. We grade it before you commit.

What if the O-1A is a stretch today?

Then the answer is usually P-1A now, O-1A as the record deepens — and we put that sequencing in writing.

Does my home-country circuit help?

Yes — championships and standings abroad feeding into U.S. competition are exactly the international-recognition story a strong file tells.
